You can Subdue Your Rosacea by Routinely Following Some Processes

Do you get blotchy redness in the center portion of your face? Do you notice thin, vein-like red lines crossing your face? Do you sometimes get bumps that seem like acne, but do not respond to proper medication? Most likely, you suffer from a skin condition called rosacea. Rosacea is a very common, though also frustrating, condition among adults. Rosacea is marked by periods where the symptoms flare-up and periods when they are more dormant. It becomes more common with increased age, just as those who already have rosacea will notice it worsening as time goes on. While there is no cure for rosacea, there are known triggers that can worsen it including heat, stress, and alcohol. There are also other solutions that can help to subdue rosacea during flare-ups.

Easy Solutions

Easy solutions for rosacea include the use of many common household products. Aloe is a product usually used on sunburns that can also do wonders for rosacea. The extract from this plant soothes the skin and reduces swelling, which also minimizes the symptoms of rosacea. Another household product that can help is vinegar. Vinegar is a natural disinfectant containing anti-inflammatory properties. When vinegar is used on the face, it helps to disinfect and lessens the redness of rosacea on your skin. Just mix 3 parts water with one part vinegar and use as a nightly facial rinse.

What to Eat

Diet can play a limited role in reducing rosacea flare-ups. First of all, spicy foods are a trigger for rosacea, so avoiding them will also lessen the number of outbreaks you experience. Additionally, eating foods that are high in zinc can decrease redness and lessen the noticeability of flare-ups. Foods that are high in zinc include red meat, poultry, cashews, almonds, and oysters. You can also take two 25mg zinc tablets twice a day instead.
